Net Zero Experimental Smart Home King Abdullah University of Science and Technology
KAUST Villa, located in Thuwal, Saudi Arabia, has won the prestigious "2022 Project of the Year" award from the US Green Building Council (USGBC). This Net Zero Smart Home is the first in a series of sustainable homes for the entire King Abdullah University campus, with sustainability, efficiency, and comfort being the key principles. The house prioritizes excellence in all areas related to environmental impact and user experience, and has achieved an outstanding score of 94, earning the coveted Leed Platinum Certificate, which is the highest ranking in the world (excluding the US).
